8th Annual Trash to Treasures Challenge
This spectacular Viewer’s Choice
Awards Challenge will be on display during the 2026 Quilt
Show Reno. We invite all patrons to take the time to vote
for their favorite entrant. Winners will be announced and
prizes awarded Saturday, June 13th, at 2:45 pm at the Awards
Ceremony on the stage in the Silver State Pavilion exhibit
hall.Entrants began with a “Trash Scrap Bag” from Fabric-Chicks, Gardnerville, NV. Before beginning their challenge, they were asked to take a photo of their “Trash Scrap Bag” contents. The photo would be submitted along with their final project.
The requirements for the challenge, entrants must use at least 5 items from their “Trash Scrap Bag”. The project must include at least 1 piece of upholstery fabric and 1 embellishment (such as button, embroidery, tatting, lace, tassel, etc.) The challenge is not limited to quilts alone, entrants may choose any item of their choice such as a Quilt, Pillow, Bag, Furniture, Doll, Book, or Clothing.

Regulations participants must follow:
- All entrants must purchase a “Trash Scrap Bag” from Fabric- Chicks for $15.00 plus $4.95 if it needs to be shipped.
- Take a photo of your “Trash Scrap Bag” and submit it with your final project to be displayed at the Quilt Show Reno.
- Use at least 5 items from your “Trash Scrap Bag”- Project must include at least 1 piece of upholstery fabric and 1 embellishment (such as button, embroidery, tatting, lace, tassel, etc.)
- Create any item/category of your choice such as a Quilt, Pillow, Bag, Furniture, Doll, Book, Clothing etc.
